Avoid Foreclosure
So, you want to know how to avoid foreclosure?
You’re not alone! With historic unemployment rates and plummeting home values, it’s getting harder and harder for the struggling homeowner to avoid foreclosure.
For many homeowners, stopping foreclosure can be both confusing and stressful. That’s why it’s very important for the homeowner to understand his options when it comes to foreclosure.
The best option when it comes to avoiding foreclosure and staying in your home is a loan modification. A loan modification is not a foreclosure loan or a foreclosure mortgage.
A loan modification is simply negotiating with your existing mortgage company to change the terms of your mortgage to make it more affordable. A loan modification will also capitalize most, if not all, of your past due payments and add them into new modified loan.
The ideal outcome of a loan modification when trying to avoid foreclosure is to achieve a lower mortgage payment without having to contribute a lot of cash towards your delinquent payments.
Unfortunately, most homeowners are at the mercy of the ‘Fat Cat Banker’s’ when trying to avoid or stop foreclosure. What I mean is that if you really want to avoid foreclosure and save your home, you will probably do whatever it takes to make this happen.
The ‘Fat Cat Banker’s’ know this and will take advantage of the uneducated homeowner and charge more fees and higher interest rates. For this reason, it is in every homeowner’s best interest to learn all they can about loan modifications if they want to avoid foreclosure.
Certain loan modification companies give away good resources in order to better educate homeowners on this new and confusing process. You should check out “The 7 Simple Steps to Your Mortgage Bailout,” it’s a free video course that gives great information about the loan modification process and how to avoid foreclosure.
